Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

IN ORDER TO ATTEND THIS COURSE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

FOR BLS CERTIFICATION:
- If you work for Dominican Hospital, Sutter Maternity or the County of Santa Cruz, open the email titled “HeartCode BLS” and follow the instructions (if you have not received this email, please contact us ASAP either by phone or email)
- If you are paying for the course on your own, please complete the HeartCode BLS portion prior to your class
- Bring a copy of your certificate of completion with you to class

FOR ACLS CERTIFICATION:
- AHA now requires you have your own copy of the ACLS 2015 provider manual with you during class. You may use this book on your ACLS written exam, but you are not allowed to share a book with another student.
- If you are a Dominican Hospital employee you may borrow a copy from your department, the gift shop, or from us for a $40 deposit
- If you are a SMSC employee you may borrow a copy from Sutter’s admin office or us for a $40 deposit
- If neither Dominican nor us have books, you can purchase one on your own here: World Point

- Complete the Pre-Course Self-Assessment
- Visit Pre-Course Self-Assessment and enter the code “acls15″ into the box.
- You must score a 70% or above. You can take it as many times as you need to pass. If you do not show this certificate with a passing score when you sign in for class, and you choose to attend without it, you will NOT be offered remediation if you do not pass the written test or skills check in class and you MUST re-take the entire course on another date which will require you to pay the complete course fee again (if you fail).

- You must bring in your current ACLS provider certification card from the American Heart Association (unless you took the course with us 2 years ago OR are a Dominican or Sutter Maternity employee)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

- If you need additional ECG practice, you may visit www.skillstat.com to review basic rhythms before class.
- There is a free tool on this website that allows you to interpret rhythms in real-time and assess your knowledge.
